Netflix Renews The Diplomat

Netflix has ordered a third season of The Diplomat, ahead of the show’s second season premiere on October 31.

In season two, a deadly explosion in the heart of London shatters U.S. Ambassador Kate Wyler’s world, as she discovers that the attack didn’t come from a rival nation but from inside the British government. The third season has already begun production.

The Diplomat stars Keri Russell, Rufus Sewell, David Gyasi, Allison Janney, Ali Ahn, Rory Kinnear and Ato Essandoh, among others. It comes from creator, showrunner and executive producer Debora Cahn.

“Season three flips the chessboard,” Cahn said. “Kate lives the particular nightmare that is getting what you want.”
