Grey’s Anatomy Star to Lead New Prime Video Series

Jesse Williams (Grey’s Anatomy, Only Murders in the Building) is set to produce and star in the new Prime Video Italian original Costiera (w.t.).

The upcoming action-drama series will follow Daniel De Luca, a half-Italian former U.S. Marine who returns to Italy, the land of his childhood, as a fixer in a luxurious hotel on the coastline of Positano. Shortly after he begins, one of the owner’s daughters disappears.

Costiera will be filmed in English and directed by Adam Bernstein (Breaking Bad, Shameless). The series is currently in production, co-produced by Amazon MGM Studios and Luca Bernabei for Lux Vide, a Fremantle company.

Prime Video is holding on to full exclusive rights in Italy, France, Spain and Portugal, while Fremantle will handle global sales in all other territories.

Bernstein said: “It’s an amazing opportunity for me to work with Jesse Williams on Costiera. I’ve always admired his work—both on stage and screen, and he’s the first actor that came to my mind for the role of Daniel De Luca. Jesse provides a perfect combination of intelligence, charisma and humor, and we’re incredibly lucky to have to have him at the center of our show.”
