ZDF Studios Signs on for Spanish Period Drama Boundless

ZDF Studios has secured global distribution for the new big-budget period drama Boundless, excluding Amazon Prime Video’s exclusive window, together with RTVE.

The 6×45-minute series tells the story of the first circumnavigation of the Earth 500 years ago by Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan. It is directed by Oscar nominee Simon West (Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, Con Air, The General’s Daughter, Black Hawk Down).

Boundless is produced by Spanish Mono Films in co-production with Fulwell 73 Productions, in association with RTVE, in collaboration with Amazon Prime Video and in association with EiTB, Canal Sur and Ayuntamiento de Madrid and in participation with ZDF Studios.

The period drama will launch on Amazon Prime Video in Spain and Latin America on June 10, to be followed, among others, by launches in the U.K., the U.S., France and Germany during the summer.
