Halfworlds Lands HBO Asia Renewal

HBO Asia has given a third-season renewal to its original series Halfworlds.

Season three of HBO Asia’s action fantasy series begins filming in January for launch later next year. This is the first time HBO Asia is shooting a series entirely in the Philippines.

From Filipino filmmaker and director Mikhail Red, the series heads to Manila for season three. As bloodthirsty mythical creatures known as Engkangtos live out in the open, Alex, a half-human and half-Engkangto, seeks to cure all Engkangtos of their hunger for human flesh.

“As we expand the fictional world of Halfworlds, we are very excited to continue transcending geographical boundaries to work with talents from the various countries in the region to produce our longest-running Asian original series,” said HBO Asia’s senior VP of original productions, Jessica Kam.

Season three is produced by HBO Asia in partnership with Cignal TV.
