An Indian adaptation of Global Agency’s hit Turkish series 1001 Nights, titled Katha Ankahee, has launched on Sony Entertainment Television and SonyLIV.

The series sees a woman who needs money for her son’s leukemia treatment fall in love with her boss, who offered to pay her if she spent the night with him. Since its debut in December, Katha Ankahee has become the number one fiction show for Sony India.

Adnan Khan and Aditi Sharma lead the Katha Ankahee cast, which also includes Sheen Dass and Ajinkya Mishra.

1001 Nights was originally produced by TMC Film and aired weekly for three seasons on Turkey’s Kanal D between 2006 and 2009.

“We are extremely happy with these good results,” said Izzet Pinto, founder and CEO of Global Agency. “1001 Nights has been one of our best-selling drama series abroad over the years. We were sure it would be very successful.”
