TV5MONDE USA to Air César Awards

LOS ANGELES, February 10: U.S. French-language network TV5MONDE USA has secured the rights to air the live broadcast of the 34th annual César Awards, the national film honors of France.

Conducted by the French Academy of Film Arts and Sciences, the awards show will air live on February 27 at 8:30 p.m. Actor Antoine de Caunes will serve as host.

Best Foreign Film nominees include Eldorado, Gomorra, Into the Wild, Le silence de Lorna, There Will be Blood, Two Lovers and Waltz with Bashir. Best French Film nominees are Entre les murs (The Class), Il y a longtemps que je t’aime (I’ve Loved You So Long), Mesrine, Paris, Le premier jour du reste de ta vie (The First Day of The Rest of Your Life), Séraphine and Un conte de Noël (A Christmas Tale).

Vying for best actor are Vincent Cassel (Mesrine). François-Xavier Demaison (Coluche, l’histoire d’un mec), Guillaume Depardieu (Versailles), Albert Dupontel (Deux jours à tuer) and Jacques Gamblin (Le premier jour du reste de ta vie). Best Actress contenders are Catherine Frot (Le crime est notre affaire), Yolande Moreau (Séraphine), Kristin Scott Thomas (Il y a longtemps que je t’aime), Tilda Swinton (Julia) and Sylvie Testud (Sagan).
