HONG KONG/CANNES: Turner International’s Turner Content Solutions business, launched last year, is heading to MIPTV with a slate of entertainment content, having already notched up deals on more than 500 hours of programming.

The offerings include both original productions and acquired series, spanning kids, lifestyle, comedy and reality. “Since the launch of the Turner Content Solutions syndication business last year, we’ve received a tremendous response to our content and have sold over 500 hours of programming," said Ian Carroll, the executive VP of Turner Broadcasting Systems Asia Pacific, which is spearheading the Turner Content Solutions business. "We’ve quickly recognized the need to expand the offering to satisfy the needs of our buyers. Turner is renowned for its compelling content, whether it’s from CNN, Cartoon Network, Adult Swim or truTV and we’re pleased that our programming is expanding for the benefit of viewers across Asia Pacific.”

The lineup includes programming from Turner’s two Japanese channels, Tabi, dedicated to travel and lifestyle, and MONDO 21, an entertainment channel aimed at a male audience; and real-life content from truTV. “truTV is proving to be a popular source for syndicated content as its dramatic real life, real consequence programming enjoys very broad appeal," Carroll continued. "World’s Wildest Vacation Videos is a great example where the series has been picked up by networks in markets such as Hong Kong and Japan."

From Adult Swim there’s Robot Chicken and Metalocalypse, and Turner has also secured the the Asia Pacific syndication rights for the comedy animation League of Super Evil (L.O.S.E), and the Dubai-based animation Freej, the Middle East’s first 3-D animated series. Turner has also secured the syndication rights to Deltora Quest, the anime series that recently premiered on Cartoon Network in Australia.
