LONDON: TRX, an online marketplace for secondary TV and video rights, has added execs from the worlds of television, distribution and finance to the company's advisory board in the run-up to its 2016 launch.

The TRX advisory board will consist of John McVay, the chief executive of independent producers' association PACT; Juliette Squair, the chief strategy officer of global music group Audio Network; Nadine Nohr, former chief executive of Shine International and former head of ITV's distribution business; and Jonathan Norman, an investment banker and partner at Stella Capital Advisors. These members will offer strategic guidance to the company, which allows buyers and sellers of TV rights to transact online using the TRX Marketplace. TRX is a 100-percent owned subsidiary of Dial Square 86.

David Frank, the executive chairman of TRX, commented: "I'm delighted we've managed to bring together this talented group of industry leaders whose combined experience will be invaluable as we roll out the TRX marketplace in 2016. With their help and assistance we are bringing to market a tool which will transform the way TV rights are bought and sold—delivering efficiencies, incremental income and value to all parties engaged in the distribution and broadcasting businesses."

McVay added: "I'm excited to be supporting the TRX initiative which is a non-aligned independent enterprise bringing much-needed efficiency and transparency to the rights exploitation space. It promises to unlock value for all rights holders and extend the reach of distributors to markets and platforms hitherto inaccessible or commercially unviable."
