NEW YORK: In what it is calling its biggest acquisition to date, truTV has picked up ABC’s version of Wipeout, and has unveiled its upcoming programming initiatives.

The network has licensed the exclusive, off-network cable rights to the Endemol format-based series from Disney-ABC Domestic Television for launch in fall 2011. "Wipeout is the kind of fun, action-packed series that will resonate strongly with our network’s core audience of young adult viewers," said Marc Juris, executive VP and general manager of truTV. "We’re extremely excited to add the show to our lineup."

truTV has also renewed Hardcore Pawn and Black Gold for fourth seasons, and Full Throttle Saloon for a third. It has also ordered additional episodes of Lizard Lick Towing. New projects for the network include NFL Films’ tentatively titled Semi-Pro; Motoclash, exec-produced by Tony and Ridley Scott; Guinness World Records (working title) from High Noon Entertainment; and NorthSouth Productions’ Impractical Jokers. Also coming to the channel is Chill, about ice sculptor Joe O’Donoghue, from eOne Television and Left/Right. Other new shows are South Beach Tow from Nuyorican Productions and Bodega Pictures; Hollywood Taxi and Bischoff-Hervey Entertainment’s Bear Swamp Recovery.
