Trio of Senior Appointments Made at SPE Networks—Asia

SINGAPORE, November 18: SPE Networks—Asia has named three new executives to its head office in Singapore, including Kim Sang-Im taking up the newly created position of director for Korea and new media.

Kim joined SPE Networks—Asia in September and already concluded a deal with KT to launch AXN on its IPTV platform, Mega TV. Kim will oversee the management of the company’s branded SVOD services PIX and PIX Thriller, including programming, marketing and on-air promotional activities. She will report to Ang Hui Keng, the senior VP of channels management and finance. Kim most recently served as the programming director for Animax Korea and prior to that was the channel manager for Korean Digital Satellite Broadcasting (also known as SkyLife).

Joining as director of technology and operations is Law Kim Meng, who came to SPE Networks—Asia in October to provide strategic and functional direction in the areas of channel operations and post-production. Also reporting to Ang Hui Keng, Law oversees a portfolio that covers satellite, technology and operations, and will offer his expertise in charting the company’s growth plan. He comes to the company after 13 years with Malaysian pay-TV operator ASTRO All Asia Networks.

In the role of director of programming, Virginia Lim will lead and oversee the programming function of Animax networks in Southeast Asia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, India and the Philippines. She will report to Gregory Ho, the VP and general manager of Animax Asia, and will work with Animax Asia’s marketing and on-air creative teams, along with Animax programming teams worldwide to drive the strategic direction for youth channel’s pan-Asia programming. Lim joins from StarHub, where she was senior manager of programming.
