Tricon Films & Television to Bring Rob Schneider to MIPCOM

TORONTO: Tricon Films & Television is set to bring comedian Rob Schneider, the star, producer, director and co-writer of the comedy series Real Rob!, to MIPCOM.

The 8×30-minute scripted comedy is independently produced, directed and self-financed by Schneider and his wife, Mexican TV producer Patricia Azarcoya, who co-wrote the series with Schneider. Real Rob! is an exaggerated but honest depiction of the actor’s real life. At work, he’s the most important person on set, but when he goes home, he’s the third most important person after his 2-year-old daughter Miranda and his wife, Patricia. Guest stars lined up for season one include George Lopez, David Spade and Norm Macdonald.

Schneider’s credits include Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo, The Hot Chick and The Animal, among others. He recently finished filming The Ridiculous Six with Adam Sandler, marking the 18th collaboration between the two comedians. Schneider has also recently returned to stand-up comedy with the release of two albums, Registered Offender and Soy Sauce and the Holocaust. He was on SNL for four seasons.
