Three U.S. Reality Series for Really

LONDON: Really, UKTV’s second lifestyle channel to relaunch, has picked up the exclusive U.K. multichannel rights to three American reality series from RDF Rights.

Confessions of a Teen Idol, Hitched or Ditched and Tough Love all head to Really this summer. Produced by Bischoff Hervey Entertainment and 3 Ball Entertainment for VH1, Confessions of a Teen Idol is an 8×1-hour reality series which gives seven heartthrobs from the ’80s and ’90s another chance at fame. Hitched or Ditched is a 5×1-hour dramatic reality series hosted by Tanya McQueen that follows long-time dating couples as they face up to the ultimatum of a lifetime. Originally produced by Drew Barrymore’s Flower Films and High Noon Entertainment for VH1, Tough Love is an 8×1-hour reality dating series, following matchmaker Steve Ward as he guides a group of eight women and equips them to find the man of their dreams via a tough love boot camp.

Confessions of a Teen Idol will receive its U.K. television premiere on Really on July 20, while Hitched or Ditched launches on July 27 and Tough Love debuts in September.

UKTV’s acting director of content acquisitions, Alexandra Finlay, said, “We are thrilled to have acquired 21 hours of exclusive content for our new lifestyle channel, Really. Its unique positioning has opened the doors to rich vein of U.S. reality programming for us for the first time here at UKTV, and we’ll be looking to acquire more going forward.”

Really’s channel head, Clare Laycock, added, “Really is a smart, straight-talking channel which aims to inspire, amaze and most importantly, get women talking. These new shows do exactly that. They’re completely addictive. Really, you couldn’t make it up!”
