The drama, set in a busy Dublin restaurant, has been a hit with Irish viewers, with the second series more than doubling RTÉ’s average audience, from 198,000 in season one to 460,700 in season two. The third season will feature Charlene McKenna (Whistleblower), Liam Garrigan (The Pillars of the Earth) Aisling O’Sullivan (The Clinic), Keith McErlean (Bachelors Walk) and Ger Ryan (The Street).

Michael Parke, executive producer for Ecosse Films, said: “We are delighted with how popular Raw has been for RTÉ and thrilled to be working with them on a third series. Raw is a great example of highly entertaining drama, capturing the imaginations of viewers with a fantastic and engaging cast and powerful story lines.”

Jane Gogan, the commissioning editor for RTÉ Drama, added: “We are very happy to be working again with both Ecosse and Octagon Films on the third series of Raw. The drama has proven a huge hit with Irish viewers with the second series more than doubling its average audience share, from 14 percent for season one to a 29-percent share for season two. And we are confident the third series will continue to build on Raw’s success to date.”
