SINGAPORE: Fox International Channels (FIC) is rolling out The Walking Dead across Asia starting today, set to reach as many as 450 million homes across the region via FX other other FIC channels as a first-run event.

This follows hot on the heels of a hit U.S. debut, where the show drew in more than 5.3 million viewers for AMC. The series’ first episode is scheduled to air today across FX, FOX, STAR World and Channel [V]. The show heads to 13 markets across the Asia Pacific and Middle East, as part of a global rollout that will see the series enter some 120 territories.

“At Fox International Channels, we strongly believe in great content that transcends media," said Ward Platt, the president for the Asia Pacific and Middle East at FIC. "The Walking Dead will not only be a groundbreaking TV campaign that will be shown on-air but we have the scale and rights to engage with fans online, on-the-ground and via many other innovative media platforms. We are thrilled to show The Walking Dead across 13 markets in Asia Pacific and the Middle East immediately after its highly successful premiere in the U.S. Our advantage to launch the show within a week of its spectacular U.S. debut, ahead of other terrestrial networks, adds significant value to our affiliate partners.”
