LOS ANGELES: FOX has renewed The Simpsons for two additional seasons, solidifying its place as the longest-running scripted show in TV history and taking the animated series to a total of 559 episodes.

After a reported stand-off between Twentieth Century Fox Television, which makes the show, and the voice actors over pay concerns, the show has in fact been renewed for 24th and 25th seasons. The series, created by Matt Groening, launched in 1990 and has since notched up 27 Emmy Awards.

The Simpsons is a Gracie Films Production in association with 20th Century Fox Television. James L. Brooks, Groening and Al Jean are the executive producers. Film Roman, a Starz Media Company, is the animation house.
