CANNES: With a third season launching for international buyers at MIPCOM, the hit comedy The Inbetweeners has been sold by DRG to more than 90 territories worldwide.

Season three premiered this month on Channel 4’s E4. The first two seasons have been picked up by new broadcasters such as MTV Latin America, MTV Italy TV3 Catalunya and NRK Norway. The Inbetweeners has been sold into more than 90 territories worldwide, with recent acquisitions such as Showtime in the Middle East, MTV Russia, Nine of Australia, NRJ of France and TVNZ of New Zealand.

Patrick Roberts, the senior VP of international sales at DRG, said, “One of the many brilliant things about The Inbetweeners is the way in which international audiences can identify with the universal tales of awkwardness and calamity. Season three has returned to E4 with massive ratings, consistently achieving over 2 million viewers and a winning 10-percent share. Today’s international sales and last week’s award for Best Sitcom at the Rose D’or has crowned this very clever and hilarious show as one of the U.K.’s most loved and watched television exports.”
