MADRID: The Spanish TV series The Boat (El Barco) from Globomedia production for Antena 3 has been sold by Imagina International to channels in Latin America and Eastern Europe.

The series will be available in 23 countries in the coming months. Already available on AXN in Poland and known as Statek, it is one of the channel’s most successful new series. The Boat also debuted this month on AXN in Hungary, where it is known as A Bárka. AXN Sci-Fi is getting ready to offer the series in Russia, which already airs the original version of The Boarding School (El Internado), another Globomedia series. The adaptation of the TV series can be seen on Russia’s CTC Networks, with the channel also bidding on an option on the El Barco format for Russia and CIS territories.

V-me, a Spanish-language channel in the U.S., airs the series, as well as the first three seasons of The Red Eagle (Águila Roja). Mexico’s Televisa and Brazil’s Globosat will also air the series, starring Mario Casas and Blanca Suarez, and it will soon reach all of Latin America on the pan-American channel OnDIRECTV.
