Televisa, CCTV Collaborate on Telenovela

CANNES: Televisa Internacional has signed a deal with CCTV’s China International Television Corporation (CITVC) to jointly produce a telenovela in China.

The series will air on CCTV and will be distributed by Televisa to its main markets—particularly Mexico and the rest of Latin America. It will be shot in mainland China and will focus on a love story between a man from China and a woman from Mexico. The series is an adaptation of Televisa’s Distilling Love, which recently aired on CCTV.

This is the first time that Televisa and CCTV are collaborating on a production, but the two companies have been in business with each other for some two decades.
