Telemundo’s The Queen of the South Hits Cyprus

MIAMI: Telemundo Internacional’s novela The Queen of the South (La Reina del Sur) premiered on July 4 on the Antenna TV channel in Cyprus during the 10:10 p.m. time slot.

The Queen of the South has seen success in Mexico, Costa Rica, Uruguay, Spain and the U.S. It is based on the book by Arturo Perez-Reverte, which has been published in more than 50 countries in 30 languages. It ranked number one in best-selling Spanish-language fiction books in the U.S.

The novela tells the story of Maria Teresa Mendoza, a young Mexican woman who becomes the queen of a powerful drug-trafficking empire.
