Telecinco First Half Profits Down 6 Percent

MADRID, July 31: Revenues
were stable at Telecinco for the first half of the year, dropping just 1.6
percent to 563 million euros, but profit was down 6 percent to 198.9 million
euros, due in part to accounting costs related to the purchase Endemol.

Excluding those charges,
Telecinco notes that profit results were stable at 210.7 million euros.

The broadcaster maintained
is leadership position in the period, recording an average 19.1-percent
audience share. Net advertising revenues, however, were down slightly to 519.7
million euros, while other revenues—including film and merchandising
rights exploitation—gained 13.8 percent to 43.3 million euros.
