T-Mobile, Endemol UK to Launch Mobile UGC Channel

LONDON, October 12:
Endemol UK has been commissioned by T-Mobile UK to create Be On TV, a
made-for-mobile user-generated-content service and TV channel, set to launch
this month.

Be On TV will feature
highlights from videos that users send in as well as regular talent
competitions that will be produced into a weekly UGC entertainment show. The
service will kick off with a search for a presenter contest, A Taste of Fame,
where winners will receive a contract to present Be On TV. Other highlights
include the categories Home Video Junk, Confess TV, Bust a Move and Kamikaze
Videos.

Endemol UK and T-Mobile UK
are partnering with Yospace, a market leader in mobile UGC, to deliver the Be
On TV service, which will also feature a weekly made-for-mobile TV show and competition
events produced by MoMedia. The video gallery allows users to search for
content, browse contributor’s profiles, download videos for a small fee and
vote for their favorite clips.

Deborah Porton, the
product manager for the Be On TV service at T-Mobile, commented: “We believe Be
On TV will bring a fresh new source of video content to our data customers.
Video is one of the fastest growing download areas, and customers are always
thirsty for original content. The Be On TV categories such as Confess TV and
Taste of Fame will inspire customers to create entertaining videos that will
keep users coming back for more. This is what really differentiates it from
other similar services in the marketplace."
