LOS ANGELES: Seven scripted projects are in development for Syfy, including Me & Lee, starring Lee Majors.

Me & Lee is from executive producers/writers Matthew Salzberg and Jenji Kohan. The Lionsgate production is a half-hour single-camera series about a down-on-his luck 20-something who becomes bionic following back surgery. Ball & Chain, a Universal Cable Productions/FremantleMedia co-production, looks at ex-lovers who are nearly struck by a meteorite, which bestows them with extraordinary powers. Unfortunately, the powers only work when they are in close proximity to each other.

Orion, from Universal Cable Productions, is being billed as a "swashbuckling space opera," about a female relic hunter and her team who hunt down objects to sell on the black market. Also in the works is the Robin Hood-takeoff Sherwood, about a young man of privilege who teams up with a misfit spaceship crew to right the wrongs of his family.

From David Eick, who was also behind the cult hits Battlestar Galactica and Caprica, comes Legendary. The half-hour single-camera series stars Kevin Sorbo, who will play an exaggerated version of himself. Sorbo also serves as producer on the show. Further on the Syfy development roster are Human Relations, a workplace series from Universal Cable Productions; and Zeros, a satire about fighting zombies.

Mark Stern, the executive VP of programming at Syfy and co-head of original content at Universal Cable Productions, said: “One of our key agendas is to continue the extraordinary growth and momentum of our popular dramas. Through partnerships with these formidable talents, in front of and behind the camera, we hope to expand our powerful brand by offering our viewers an imaginative next generation of programming.”
