LONDON: The supernatural fantasy noir drama Lost Girl is to make its U.K. debut on Syfy via a deal secured by Sony Pictures Television.

The first season of Lost Girl launched on Showcase in Canada. The second season is currently in production, to launch in September. Syfy in the U.S. has picked up both seasons. Syfy in the U.K. will launch season one of Lost Girl on September 1 at 10 p.m.

Laurence Dawkin-Jones, the U.K. managing director for Universal Networks International, said: “Lost Girl mixes fantasy, folklore and mystery with high-adrenalin action and a knowing witty style. The series is a great addition to our line up of first-run content and we are looking forward to establishing Bo as the hottest female action hero since Buffy.”
