NEW YORK: Syfy is developing the drama script Metadocs, with co-production partners Universal Cable Productions and FremantleMedia, based on the comic book series created by Joe Dunn and Rod Espinoza.

The project will be produced by Landscape Films and Platinum Studios, and will be written by Michael Chernuchin (Law & Order, Law & Order: Criminal Intent). Metadocs follows a team of specialists who are tasked with treating the small percentage of the world’s population who have become "afflicted" with extraordinary abilities.

The deal follows on the recently partnership announcement between Syfy, Universal Cable Productions and FremantleMedia for Ball & Chain, currently in development. Also produced by Landscape Films, both projects are a result of the first-look deal FremantleMedia share with Bob Cooper.
