SUPER RTL Slates Live-Action Tween Series

LOS ANGELES: The series The Wannabes, which features the pop group Savvy, has been picked up by SUPER RTL in Germany to launch on June 18, with the show now airing in more than 60 countries worldwide. 

The 26-episode series follows six high-school students at an upscale arts academy, all of whom dream of becoming a singing sensation. Throughout the series, these aspiring pop stars will learn to balance their studies with their secret life as performing artists. Each episode features an original exclusive music video from Savvy, the group that features Shaylen Carroll, Gabrielle “Gigi” LeMaire, Alan Shaw, Drew Reinartz and Andrew Stern.

The show, created by Doreen Spicer-Dannelly, airs in such territories as Australia, Israel and on HBO Family in Latin America.
