Studio B Scores Production Orders on Two New Properties

VANCOUVER, October 4: Studio B has signed a production order
with YTV for 26 episodes of the kids’ comedy series Kid vs. Kat, which will be introduced to international buyers at
MIPCOM along with Martha Speaks,
which is set to launch in fall 2008 on PBS Kids.

The 26×22-minute comedy series Kid vs. Kat, aimed at kids aged 6 to 11, is about an exaggerated
conflict between a malevolent cat and a 10-year-old boy. The property was
developed internally at Studio B, based on a short titled Look What
My Sister Dragged In
that screened at
MIPCOM Junior in 2006. The series is currently in production with a YTV launch
in fall 2008.

Martha Speaks, a
40×30-minute series aimed at kids aged 4 to 8, is based on the best-selling
books by Susan Meddaugh and follows the adventures of a lovable dog whose
appetite for alphabet has given her the gift of human speech. The series is a
co-production with WGBH Boston, and uses television, the web and a grassroots
outreach campaign to help bolster young children’s vocabulary development.

“We are thrilled to add Martha Speaks to our roster of productions,” stated Blair Peters,
a partner at Studio B Productions. “We are very excited to have a property
targeted to younger children with an educational mission. We are confident that
Martha Speaks will become
favorites with kids worldwide.”
