TORONTO: Cookie Jar Entertainment, American Greetings Properties and Exim Licensing Group have secured a licensing deal with Xeryu’s of Brazil to create a new line of products for Strawberry Shortcake.

The product line will feature a collection of fashion bags, available in stores in fall, along with backpacks, which will hit shelves in November. The bags are aimed at all ages, reflecting the brand’s multi-generational appeal. All products will be available at more than 700 specialty and independent stores and retail chains throughout Brazil.

“We are very excited about the new Strawberry Shortcake licensing program. We have a strong understanding of the brand which will enable us to develop a variety of products and a great marketing campaign for the launch,” said Ariel F. Schajnovetz, the general manager of Xeryu’s.

Strawberry Shortcake (Moranguinho) is the hottest girls’ license in Brazil and we’re thrilled to work with a company like Xeryu’s that creates beautiful products that appeal to young girls, tweens, teens and adults. This partnership will solidify Strawberry Shortcake as a brand that appeals to three generations of women,” added Rodrigo Piza, the VP for Latin America at Cookie Jar Entertainment.
