Starz Entertainment Exec Upped to EVP of Programming

ENGLEWOOD, August 21: Stephan Shelanski, currently the
senior VP of programming at Starz Entertainment, has been promoted to executive
VP of programming, where he will be responsible for content across all of the
company’s platforms.

In his new role, Shelanski will continue to oversee all
programming, including acquisitions, original programming and on-air
interstitial content. He will continue to report to Bill Myers, Starz’s
president and CEO.

Shelanski joined Starz in 1994 and has been instrumental in
securing the company’s first-run programming though output deals, expanding
library deals, managing programming inventory and creating relationships with
studio partners and affiliates. Most recently, Shelanski launched original
series including the short-form comedies Head Case and Martin Lawrence Presents 1st Amendment
Stand-up
; the documentaries New
Orleans Music in Exile, Bullets Over Hollywood
and Buy the Ticket, Take the Ride, among others; as well as several new shows currently
in production for 2008.
