STAR PLUS to Air Indian Film Awards

HONG KONG: The Hindi general-entertainment channel STAR PLUS is to serve as the exclusive broadcaster for the 2009 International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards, reaching 150 million viewers in the Indian Subcontinent, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, the U.S. and Europe.

Held in Macau from June 11 to 13 , the IIFA Awards aim to promote Indian cinema to a worldwide audience. To kick off the festivities, STAR PLUS will feature special programs every weekend in June, including Golden Decade of Indian Cinema, which looks back at ten years of the awards; IIFA Weekend, featuring Bollywood celebrities enjoying Macau; and IIFA Curtain Raiser, giving viewers a behind-the-scenes look at the rehearsals. There will also be an eco-friendly "Green Carpet" show.
