SPTI Shores up New Format Deals for Power of 10

CULVER CITY, October 2: Sony Pictures Television
International (SPTI) has signed format deals for the new American game show Power
of 10
in Australia, Chile, France and
Greece.

SPTI has finalized agreements for local versions of the format
with Nine Network in Australia, Chilevision in Chile, TF1 in France and Mega in
Greece. Additionally, SPTI has also sold the U.S. version of Power of 10 to Global in Canada and On Media in Korea for its On
Style channel. The company will also be selling the format and the U.S. version
to international broadcasters outside of the U.S. at MIPCOM.

Power of 10 was
created by renowned TV producer Michael Davies (Who Wants To Be A
Millionaire?
) of Embassy Row Productions.
It is a high-stakes studio-based game show where contestants put their
knowledge of public thinking to the test, as they attempt to answer questions
based on large-scale professional polling results.

Each version of Power of 10 will be produced locally using surveys customized for that country.
Local hosts will be announced by broadcasters at a later date, and airdates
will vary from country to country. The U.S. version currently airs on Global in
Canada and On Media's On Style channel in Korea will announce an airdate at a
later time.

"Power of 10 is
a rarity in television because it combines the excitement of a traditional game
show and the inventive use of popular opinion to produce a show that can be
easily adapted in so many countries," said Sander Schwartz, the president
of international production at SPTI. "SPTI has a strong record of adapting
formats and we're thrilled to be able to offer Power of 10 to our clients. Michael Davies has had an enviable
track record in producing hit game shows and we have high expectations for Power
of 10
internationally, which has already
scored for CBS in the U.S."
