SPTI Promotes Todd Miller to EVP and MD of Asia Unit

HONG KONG, March 12: Sony
Pictures Television International (SPTI) has promoted Todd Miller to executive
VP and managing director in Asia, reporting to Michael Grindon, the president
of SPTI.

In his new role, based in Hong
Kong, Miller will be responsible for managing and coordinating the division’s
licensing, network operations and local-language productions businesses in the
region, as well as overseeing SPTI’s mobile and digital content delivery
initiatives throughout Asia.

Previously, Miller served as VP
and MD in Asia at SPTI. Under Miller’s direction, SPTI has been active in
distributing Asian entertainment worldwide, including two of the
highest-grossing Asian movies of all-time, Kung Fu Hustle and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. Prior to that, Miller was SVP of international
networks in Asia at SPTI from 2003 to 2004, where he was based in Singapore,
and oversaw all operations and day-to-day activities of AXN Asia. Under Miller,
Animax Asia, SPTI’s 24-hour anime channel, was launched in 2004. He joined SPTI
in Hong Kong as sales manager in 1994.
