SPTI, Poland’s ITI Neovision Ink VOD Deal

LONDON, September 11: Sony Pictures Television International (SPTI) has reached a
deal with ITI Neovision in Poland to provide a variety of recent Hollywood
blockbuster movies on demand to subscribers of the digital satellite
entertainment service nVOD.

The nVOD
service, which went live on September 7, downloads the movies to a subscriber’s
set top box. The service kicked off with the 2006 movie, The Pursuit of
Happyness
, starring
Will Smith. Films from 2007 are also part of the lineup, including Spider-Man
3
, starring Tobey
Maguire and Kirsten Dunst and Ghost Rider starring Nicolas Cage. From next year, other new Sony
Pictures releases available via the service will include Angels and Demons, the sequel to The Da Vinci Code, starring Tom Hanks and Audrey Tautou.

Stuart Baxter, the
executive VP of distribution for SPTI, commented:
“Central Europe is an increasingly important market for us in terms of growth
in digital services. Poland is a substantial part of that market and a country
that presents exciting opportunities for SPTI to grow our digital distribution
business. We already have a long-standing relationship with ITI and their
larger TVN Group and we are pleased to extend that relationship through this
VOD agreement.”
