SPTI Appoints New VP of Production for Spain

LONDON, December 18: Sony Pictures Television International
(SPTI) has named Alfredo Ereno as the VP of production for Spain, marking the
first time the company has selected a dedicated head of production in that
market.

Based in Madrid, Ereno will be responsible for the
establishment of SPTI as a major producer of both scripted and non-scripted
programming in the Spanish market. Local TV series and adaptations of
successful international formats will be his chief focus for development. He
will report to Antony Root, the senior VP of European production.

Ereno formerly served as general director of Spanish
production company BocaBoca. His duties included overseeing the creative and
commercial operations of the company, including the development and production
of fiction and entertainment programming. He served as executive producer on El
Comisario
and Pasapalabra (on Telecino). Ereno also filled various other roles
at BocaBoca, including the positions of director of development and content for
TV and theatrical, as well as marketing and sales. In those roles, he worked
closely with the company’s founder, Cesar Benitez.

“I am
delighted to announce the appointment of Alfredo to lead SPTI’s Spanish
production business,” said Root. “This is the first time SPTI has appointed a
dedicated head of production in Spain, underlining the strategic importance of
the market in the overall growth of SPTI’s international production business.
Alfredo brings with him an impressive combination of commercial, strategic, development
and production experience that I know will be extremely valuable as we focus on
evolving SPTI’s Madrid-based production business.”
