SPTI Announces Promotions for Advertising Units in Latin America

MIAMI/SÏ PAOLO, February 27: Sony Pictures Television International (SPTI) has promoted Irving Plonskier to VP of pan-regional advertising sales in Latin America, and Alberto Niccoli, Jr. to VP of advertising sales in Brazil.

Based at SPTI’s Latin American headquarters in Miami, Plonskier was promoted from his previous position as executive director of advertising sales in Latin America. In his new role, he will continue to direct all of SPTI’s pan-regional advertising sales business. These include working with SPTI’s advertising sales teams in Miami and Los Angeles on proposals, ideas for continued long-term growth, the development of special event-programming packages and the establishment of strategic client relationships and new business development. Additionally, he is also responsible for the communication and relationship between SPTI advertising sales in Latin America and its represented channels, which include its own SET, AXN and Animax, as well as third-party networks such as E!, A&E, The History Channel, Casa Club and MGM.

Based in Sao Paulo, Niccoli is responsible for advertising sales in Brazil for all channels represented by SPTI. He will also handle advertising sales for HBO and Cinemax in Brazil, the only territory where both channels air advertising. He joined SPTI in 2001 as advertising sales director for Brazil.

Both executives report to Klaudia Bermudez-Key, SPTI’s senior VP and general manager for advertising sales in Latin America.
