SPE Responds to Spider-Man 3 Piracy Rumors

LOS ANGELES, April 25: Sony Pictures Entertainment has
issued a statement against news reports about bootleg copies of Spider-Man 3 being sold in China, with the studio stating that
its own investigation “has revealed no case of the film being pirated to date.”

The studio acknowledged that it had found instances of Spider-Man

being sold illegally, packaged in Spider-Man
3
cases, “but thus far we can find no
instance where Spider-Man 3 has
appeared on DVD.”

The studio also maintains that it has also found no instance
of the highly anticipated blockbuster appearing online. The third in the hit
franchise hits U.S. theaters May 4.
