Sparky Animation to Co-Produce CGI Feature

SINGAPORE, September 15:
Sparky Animation has completed an agreement with Los Angeles-based PorchLight
Entertainment and Grimply Films in Edinburgh to co-produce the full-length 3-D
CGI feature The Grimpley Brothers,
budgeted at $22 million.

The complete animation
production of the film will be done at Sparky Animation’s studios in Singapore
and Beijing. All the pre- and post-production will be done by PorchLight
Entertainment.

Targeted towards a family
audience, The Grimpley Brothers
is about two brothers who go from a sibling rivalry and mutual loathing to
brotherly love and appreciation.

Seto Lok Yin, the
assistant CEO of the Media Development Authority of Singapore, said: “We are
excited about The Grimpley Brothers
being produced out of Singapore. This is a great opportunity for Sparky to
reflect the varied animation talents Singapore has to offer. The film enjoys a
fantastic bunch of industry stars coming together for the production and I am
sure that upon completion it will be a film that could be enjoyed by families
around the world.”
