Spanish Deals for Koala Brothers

LONDON: Imira Entertainment landed further broadcast and publishing deals for Spellbound Entertainment’s preschool series The Koala Brothers in Spain.

TVE bought the free-TV rights to all 39 half-hour episodes of the award-winning preschool series, while Planeta Junior, part of Grup Planeta, acquired the publishing rights for novelty, coloring and activity books. This expands the property’s current reach in Spain, where Big Picture Entertainment recently snapped up home-entertainment rights for The Koala Brothers. Additional licensing partners are expected to be announced shortly.

Peter Curtis, the joint managing director of Spellbound, said: "We are delighted that TVE have picked up The Koala Brothers and that the series has been so well received in Spain. It is great to be teaming up with such a strong lineup of partners and we look forward to building a successful business in Spain with Imira Entertainment."
