Power’s Flood to Roll Out Across Asia

LONDON, January 17: Power has shored up a number of
theatrical, terrestrial and pay-TV and video deals for the feature film Flood
across key Asian territories.

In Japan, CK Entertainment has signed an all-rights deal,
covering theatrical and video, terrestrial and pay TV. Meanwhile, the
all-rights deal with New View in China encompasses theatrical (for China Film),
free and pay TV (for CCTV6) and video. Korean cable operator CJ Media has also
picked up the film.

An all-rights deal with V Films in India includes theatrical
release, terrestrial, pay cable and DTH TV and video, with additional IPTV
rights. In Hong Kong, Power has signed a terrestrial deal with TVB, while in
Thailand a video deal with Thai distributor J-Bics has been inked. A further
theatrical deal with film buyer Ram Entertainment covers Malaysia, Indonesia
and Singapore.

Flood, written by Justin
Bodle and Matthew Cope, is based on the book of the same name by Richard
Doyle and features dramatic CGI special effects. It was shot last year on
location in London and South Africa, and depicts a raging storm unleashing a
colossal surge of water down England’s east coast and into the River Thames.

Flood is a Power
production in association with Moonlighting Films (South Africa) and Muse
Entertainment Enterprises (Canada). It is produced by Justin Bodle and independent
producer Peter McAleese. The co-producers are Michael Prupas for Muse
Entertainment and Philip Key and Genevieve Hofmeyr for Moonlighting.

“Having Flood in our
portfolio is an exciting and impactful way to introduce Power to Asia and the
partnerships we are forging create a great foundation on which to launch our
Asia office in February,” said George Sakkalli, Power’s VP of Asian sales and
distribution.
