Sony to Release New Video-Capable Walkman

NEW YORK, August 30: Sony is looking to claim some 10
percent of the portable media player market, according to Reuters, with its new
Walkman that is capable of playing videos.

The new Walkman models are due to hit the retail market next
month as a direct competitor to the iPod. The new Walkman promises to play more
music formats than its competitor. The models are expected to retail for
between $120 and $230. Meanwhile, Apple is rumored to be gearing up to launch a
new version of the iPod on September 5.
