Solid Entertainment Secures Rights to Animal Planet Doc

ENCINO, March 28:
Documentary distributor Solid Entertainment has secured the international
broadcast rights for The Real Lost World, a documentary that aired on Animal Planet about the Venezuelan site
that inspired the classic novel The Lost World.

Solid Entertainment plans
to bring the documentary to this year’s MIPTV. The Real Lost World originally aired on Animal Planet in the U.S. on
December 10, 2006. Solid Entertainment is representing worldwide terrestrial
and DVD rights.

Produced by Canadian
company Gryphon Productions, the documentary follows a modern team of
adventurers and scientists who journey to Roraima, Venezuela—one of the
oldest places on earth—to find the actual place that inspired Arthur
Conan Doyle’s Lost World. Along
the way, they’ll encounter dangerous animals and explore native legends of
flying reptiles and ape-men said to live there.
