Sky1 Announces Casting for New Pratchett Mini-Series

LONDON: Production has begun on Going Postal, Sky1’s third adaptation of Terry Pratchett’s Discworld series, with a cast that includes David Suchet, Richard Coyle, Charles Dance and Claire Foy.

The 2×2-hour HD production is slated to premiere on Sky1 and Sky1 HD in April 2010. The adaptation will be produced by Sue De Beauvoir (Merlin) for The Mob film company, and directed by Jon Jones (The Diary of Anne Frank, Northanger Abbey).
International distribution is being handled by ALL3MEDIA International.

Going Postal follows two previous adaptations of books from Pratchett’s Discworld series: Hogfather and The Color of Magic. It tells the story of arch-swindler Moist Von Lipwig (Coyle), whose crimes finally catch up with him in the town of Ankh-Morpork. Pratchett’s 33rd Discworld novel, Going Postal was released in 2004. Shooting for the drama is taking place on location in Budapest, Hungary.
