Sky Renews Premier League Rights

LONDON: BSkyB has been awarded four out of the six available packages for the British rights to Premier League matches for three seasons beginning in 2010.

Sky has said that it will be "proceeding to a second round of bidding" for the remaining two packages "in due course."

Sky currently holds the rights to four packages in a deal that expires at the end of the 2009/10 season, with the remaining two held by Setanta Sports. Financial terms of the new deal were not disclosed.
