Sky Atlantic Drama Casts Chloë Sevigny

LONDON: The upcoming Sky Atlantic drama Hit and Miss, the latest project to come out of the development pact between FremantleMedia Enterprises and Paul Abbott (Shameless, State of Play), is set to star film and television actress Chloë Sevigny.

FME has a development pact with Abbott’s company AbbottVision that includes funding and distribution services. FME rolled out the first AbbottVision title, Exile in April, this year and will introduce the six-part Hit and Miss to international broadcasters at MIPCOM.

Sevigny (Boys Don’t Cry, Big Love) has been cast as Mia, a contract killer and pre-op transsexual. A letter from her ailing ex leads Mia to a tiny West Yorkshire village where she must come to grips with having fathered a child 11 years ago.

“Chloë Sevigny is an extraordinarily talented actress and we are thrilled to welcome her to her first U.K. television role on Sky Atlantic HD," said Elaine Pyke, the head of Sky Atlantic. "Mia is a complex, challenging character and Chloë is the perfect person to bring her to life.”

Abbot, the series’ creator and exec producer, added, “She’s bringing her unique, smart toolbox with her and, together, we will make a great show better. And the next big deal was getting the gifted young film maker Sean Conway to lend his genius and unique mischief into this, his TV drama debut.”

The show will premiere in 2012.
