LONDON: The prime-time quiz show Secret Fortune has scored ten new production deals, secured through DRG.

The format will be produced locally in France with Starling, as well as in Australia by Shine, in Finland by Nordisk Film & TV, in the Middle East by Hedgehog Media and in Turkey by Medyalab. A further five production rights deals have been secured across Europe for Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Portugal and Greece with leading entertainment production companies. These new agreements come on the back of a previous deal announced in February in which Nigel Lythgoe secured the rights for U.S.

Earlier this week, BBC One confirmed a second season. Wild Rover, the show’s creator, will produce 8 one-hour installments for the second season on BBC One. The U.K. show will once again be executive produced by Phil Morrow, the managing director at Wild Rover and hosted by television personality Nick Knowles. The series will be filmed in Glasgow at the BBC’s Pacific Quay Studios.

Morrow commented, “We’re delighted that the BBC has picked up a second season before the first season has even finished airing. So far, Secret Fortune has consistently won the slot against all channels, peaking with a 31-percent share and over 7 million viewers and we can’t wait to see the launch of the ten new local productions.”

Patrick Roberts, the senior VP of international sales at DRG, said of the new deals, “We all dream of winning our Secret Fortune and I’m thrilled that this exciting new format will now be making this wish a reality for contestants all around the world. A proven success in the U.K.’s most competitive time slot, this show fantastically combines edge of the seat tension and surprise, with play-along family entertainment. With 12 of the world’s major TV markets now on board, it’s our next ambition to see this show on-air in Latin America and Asia.”
