Second Season for VH1’s Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew

LOS ANGELES, June 11: VH1
has reteamed with Dr. Drew Pinsky for a second season of eight one-hour
episodes of the reality series Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew, premiering in October.

The new cycle will follow
the real-life experiences of celebrity patients who are undergoing
detoxification and treatment at a center in the Los Angeles area. Jeff Conaway
returns this season, checking back into rehab, and joining him are Sean Stewart
(Sons of Hollywood),
model/actress Amber Smith, Rodney King, Nikki McKibbon (American Idol), Steven Adler (Guns N' Roses) and actress Tawny
Kitaen. Gary Busey, who is 13-years sober after a cocaine addiction, will also
be featured in the new season, as he shares his experiences on the recovery
process. As it did in the first season, VH1 will present on-air PSAs about
addiction and the possibilities of recovery as well as online resources for
those in need of assistance.

"Over the course of
the first season we were inundated with positive feedback about the series from
our viewers and those in the rehab community,” said Jeff Olde, the executive VP
of original programming and production at VH1. “Dr. Drew is a powerful,
positive force for those seeking recovery and I am quite simply amazed not only
by the quality of his medical care, but for how much Drew and his team truly
care about the people they are treating. This series is a deeply transformative
emotional experience in front of the cameras and behind the scenes for everyone
involved and I believe it resonates with the viewers because the stakes are so
high and the journey is so very human."
