Scorsese in Paramount Deal for Films, TV Shows

LOS ANGELES, November 8: Paramount Pictures has signed a
reported $10-million, four-year first-look deal with Martin Scorsese for a
range of programming across all media, including feature films, TV movies and
series, documentaries and digital content.

The acclaimed filmmaker has not had a formal tie-up with a
studio for several years. The deal comes on the heels of the success of Warner
Bros.’s The Departed, which was
co-produced by Paramount’s chairman and CEO, Brad Grey.

“Marty will attract the best actors in the business to
Paramount, that is really important to us,” Grey is quoted as saying. “He’s the
man they’re all dying to work with. The idea of Paramount working hand in glove
with Marty for years to come is fantastic news.”
