SCI FI Channel Promotes Web Execs

NEW YORK, August 28: Matthew
Chiavelli and Marlon Jackson have been named as VPs at the SCI FI Channel’s
website, where they will help build a balance of original online content and
network-related fare.

Chiavelli, formerly the
SCIFI.COM's multimedia director, has been named VP of broadband and mobile. In
his new role, he will continue to develop content for SCI FI’s online broadband
video initiatives, work with the West Coast development team to evaluate
incoming pitches for TV shows that may start on the web, develop content for ad
sales initiatives and drive mobile growth.

Jackson, who has been with
SCIFI.COM since 1999, has been promoted from production director to VP of
production. In his expanded role, he will lead development for online
extensions of SCI FI shows with a focus on TV 360 ad sales. He will also work
directly with the on-air and off-air marketing teams on project development for
SCIFI.COM and other portfolio sites.

Both Chiavelli and Jackson
will be based in New York.

Craig Engler, the senior
VP of SCIFI.COM and SCI FI Magazine,
said: “SCIFI.COM had unprecedented growth in 2007 and a record first half of
2008, and Marlon and Matthew were a large part of that success. As we continue
to grow our digital businesses, they will each play an increased role in that
expansion, and I'm confident they'll both deliver.”
