SCI FI Channel Develops New Dramedy Pilot

NEW YORK, October 15: SCI FI Channel is developing a
90-minute dramedy pilot titled Earthlings.

The pilot focuses on three humanoid aliens who are stranded
in middle America under false pretenses and must figure out how to escape while
navigating the social conventions of present-day Earth. Despite their extremely
advanced technology and intellect, they find themselves naive in the
commonplace things that humans take for granted.

Dan Waters (Heathers,
Demolition Man) is writing and executive producing the pilot. Aaron
Geller will be an executive producer and Darryl Porter will be co-executive
producer, under their PorterGeller Entertainment first-look deal with Fox
Television Studios.

"We're very excited at the opportunity to work with Dan
and think he's got a fresh take on this classic 'fish-out-of-water' convention,”
said Mark Stern, the executive VP of original programming for SCI FI. “Earthlings
is a fun, relatable story that should be a
great fit for the channel. Much like Eureka, it's a concept that has the potential to appeal to
our core audience while attracting new viewers."
