Schouwenaar Tapped as New CEO of Endemol

HILVERSUM, July 24: Former Endemol chief Aat Schouwenaar has been nominated to serve as the new CEO and chairman of the company, succeeding Elías Rodriguez-Viña.

The move comes following the sale of the company  to Mediaset, John De Mol’s Cyrte Investments and Goldman Sachs.

Schouwenaar was the CEO of Endemol until 2004, when he was ousted by Joaquin Agut. Schouwenaar and De Mol left the company shortly after Agut’s arrival.

Rodriguez-Viña has agreed to step down and his employment agreement with Endemol will terminate effective February 1, 2008.
