BURBANK: Sam Register has been elevated to president of Warner Bros. Animation (WBA) and Warner Digital Series, a newly created position.

Register will work under Peter Roth, the president and chief content officer of Warner Bros. Television Group. His new duties include managing a newly formed live-action digital content production unit and overseeing the development and production of original live-action digital shows. He is also expected to find opportunities to work with new writers and producers.

Previously, Register was WBA's executive VP of creative affairs. Among the current WBA series developed and supervised by Register are Teen Titans Go! and The Tom and Jerry Show. He was first hired by the studio as a producer in 2007. Before that, he served as a producer and senior animation exec at Cartoon Network.

Roth commented: "Sam has done an outstanding job shepherding Warner Bros. Animation over the past six years, reinvigorating one of the most storied and accomplished animation production companies in this industry. His creative instincts coupled with boundless enthusiasm, passion and energy were all key drivers in WBA's recent successes, and I know that he will bring the same level of leadership and commitment to his new mission of building and expanding our digital series business. The possibilities under his guidance are limitless."
